The only takeaway here is that his credentials were so impressive that the essay didn't matter. Admissions officers need to vet a mountain of applications and distinguish between those who buy college papers. One of the most time-intensive parts of that process is reading essays. Do you think that they're going to sink that time into an application when other parts of it already get the candidate in the door?
That said, in a perfect world I'd like to see this candidate bounced for phoning it in on that part of the assignment. If he believes so strongly in a cause, then he should use some of his intellectual talent to employ big boy words to state his case. | |
