| Random frame drops, help! | Posted By markblake (8th Jul 17 at 12:07pm) | Playing CS:GO at around 180 fps approx and then a random frame drop to like 30 fps all the sudden, without reason. It lasts for around a minute then goes back to normal for like 3 minutes, and keeps doing the same. I dropped my rank already because of this stupid problem I have no solution to. I took my rig apart, cleaned a bit of dust it had, changed the thermal paste on CPU and cooler and reassembled it again. Problem is still there, but works slightly better. My PC runs perfectly smoothly with no effort as I take care of it all the time. No background programs are running, RAM is not a problem. I figured it could only be either one of two: CPU/GPU overheating or outdated audio drivers that gives me the stutter in-game. I checked the statistics and GPU temperature while playing CS:GO doesn't over 40. But CPU's cores can go up to 65. Is that too much? By the way I'm using shitty iPhone headphones that show me Property Management Video with an extension cord for my sound, could that cause the frame drop?
