Hello,
It should be easy to get a picture of every kid at the plate, every pitcher (2-3/game) and, with luck, a few plays at first or home or infield catches. 20-25 pictures per 8-12 teams is a few hundred pictures, $3-10 to for 8x10 prints locally, if I buy them for $5 and sell them for $25 I need to sell five pictures per team to come close to a profit. (I'm trying to figure out who locally can print the pictures out reliably and as quickly as I need.) That sounds wildly optimistic, and it means that my cost goes up steeply if I have more pictures of each kid. By contrast, if I go the Zenfolio route, I can add more pictures, increasing the chance that one will catch a parent’s eye, without increasing my cost.
Is there any reason to think that printing out a bunch of pictures is economically viable? Does anyone have experience with how many pictures I can expect to sell per team? Or what print size or price will work best? Any other experiences or suggestions?
I've attached a few examples of my work, in case that affects anyone's answer. The pictures of the pitcher and batter are easy to get consistently (although, obviously, not every batter hits). The picture of the guy coming in to score, my favorite of the bunch, requires luck.
Thanks very much for any thoughts,Thanks.
