What is a statutory agent? - Posted By Zize Heninngs (zize55) on 14th Jun 22 at 9:42am
I am thinking about registering an LLC in some state of the USA. And reading all the laws, I was told that I need to find an agent for that state. What is a statutory agent?

An official agent is the person or entity who sends and receives legal documents on behalf of your LLC In Georgia, New York and some other states, an official agent is known as a registered agent or service process agent. Almost every state in the United States requires the L.L.C. to appoint a statutory agent. And when I found out for form an llc in arizona it is required there too.

A legal agent will act as your primary point of contact with the state. He or she will receive things like compliance information and tax notices.
